Shearwater

I borrowed Andrea Mayes' 'Shearwater' from my local library and read it over a couple of days (the luxury of being on holidays). Another terrific read, this time set in a small coastal Australian town. The story is about 54 year old Cassie whose 28 year marriage comes to an abrupt end when her husband announces that the young woman with whom he's being having an affair for the past 5 years is pregnant. Cassie flees the family home and finds refuge in a small cottage by the sea in Shearwater. It's a story of love, loss and hope, beautifully told with a cast of interesting and believable characters.
Well worth reading.
